when i bought this hammock, it was for my long awaited vacation to florida that i took with a friend.we both love the beach and we thought hammocks would be great to bring for the trip.i bought the travel hammock and received a great hammock and the ropes were included!my friend bought some other hammock (paid more and didn't even get ropes to hang it, yuk!)
i used it just about everyday i was there, this thing is great. i wish the vacation wasn't over cuz now i have to wait for warmer weather now to relax in my hammmock again.

Grand Trunk Ultralight Print Hammock Review

The hammock seems to be durable and is very lightweight. It took me under a minute to assemble it. However, it only is guaranteed to hold up to 150 lbs. Also, the ropes that are included are relatively short, limiting the distance between which the hammock can be set up. However, it does pack up very well and seems to be great for camping.

Eagles Nest Outfitters DoubleNest Hammock Review

UPDATE:I ended up purchase the Grand Trunk ultralight single hammocks for my two sons, so was able to actually compare the ENO with the Grand Trunk brands.

The ENO is definitely a thicker material - parachute nylon - while the Grand Trunk hammock are made a very thin nylon material.But for a hot/humid climate like Texas, the Grand Trunk hammocks outperformed the ENO hammock this weekend (May) while camping. The GT hammocks allowed the breeze to circulate, and actually keeps you quite a bit cooler.I think the ENO hammock will be better in the cooler times of the year, but for the summer - and for this price - the GT is a winner.

Also, if you are planning to purchase the "Slap Straps Pro" as I previously recommended - be wary that the tag states that they are for a weight max. of 200 lbs and does not tell whether this is per strap, or for the two straps combined (although the ENO hammock is rated for 400 lbs).If I had noticed this before I purchased, I would have contacted the manufacturer for clarification.

I debated between this and the Grand Trunk Double Hammock that was about $40 compared to ENO at $58.The ENO hammock has very good quality caribiners, unlike a lot of hammocks which have S-hooks (although I am sure you could purchase your own caribiners or higher quality S-hooks).Also, the ENO hammock is supposed to be able to hold up to 400 lbs, compared to most other hammocks which state 300 lbs.The hammock appears very durable and strong, and we have actually had it in the rain, and it dries very quickly.

The only Cons I saw compared to the GT hammock is that the ENO hammocks only carry a two year warranty, compared to GT's 10 year warranty.However, the ENO hammock quality appears superior.Also, note that the double hammock is very wide compared to a single hammock, so it takes a little bit of getting used to all the room you have :)(the extra material can actually "cover" you like a light blanket).

If you camp a lot and can spring for the Eagle's Nest Outfitters "slap straps pro" which are around $20-$25 - you won't regret it.They make putting this hammock up super-easy and super-fast.They are thin, lightweight, but super strong.They are also easier on tree-bark compared to plain rope.On that note, this hammock DOES NOT HAVE ROPE ATTACHED.So make sure you have some on hand, or buy the "slap straps".

Hammock Bliss Single Portable Hammock Review

My husband experienced hammock envy on a recent camping trip in the Black Hills of SD.After some net surfing I found a great deal on Amazon.com for a Hammock Bliss. I figured I couldn't lose on a deal like that. In using it at home, I found it to be more comfortable than our rope style hammock.The amount of material is strong and generous. I can almost wrap myself up like a mummy to keep the flying nasties off of me.Recently, I tried it camping. Looking for the right trees was the hardest part.But, it worked well without the use of tree straps thanks to the strong cords.My only difficulty with HB was getting out of it.Chalk that up to maybe age and weight.However, I used my canoe paddle as a stretcher bar and was able to gracefully eject myself out of the Bliss.Basic three word summary, PORTable, COMFORTable and AFFORDable.

Grand Trunk Ultralight Hammock Review

The material quality is about what you would expect for the price. There are no carabiners included and it instead comes with hooks. That being said it is more comfortable than far more expensive ones. Ditch the hooks, use carabiners. These hammocks do not pinch you inward making it very comfortable.

A tip to you campers, use just one line between points (utilize a prusik knot for tension) and let the hammock drape from that single rope. You can now use that same line for your rain fly or your mosquito netting. You save on weight and you don't have to cut your rope.

I uploaded video to a popular website (wink) of the hammock and how to use the single line method with a mosquito net! I tried posting the links but Amazon deleted them. Search under "Grand Trunk Ultra Light Hammock" and you should be able to find 3 of them. If it came with carabiners I would have given 5 stars.
