This bivy will be good enough for backcountry recon or backpacking.It is light, but could be lighter.It seems as thought the zippers are sturdy, a plus, but also a place they could have lightened.The stakes that came with mine are heavy alloy.I recommend replacing them with lighter aluminum or opt not to use them.You could use this bivy with no stakes and no poles to save weight.The best option seems to be using one pole and one stake (hopefully lighter than stock) on the head end of the bivy.Click Here to see more reviews about: Stratosphere Bivvi Shelter, Olive
