Black Diamond Skylight Tent 3-Person 3-Season Review

Black Diamond Skylight Tent 3-Person 3-SeasonThis tent has a very nice design, and is very light. It stands strong in moderate winds and rain. I would have rated it 4.5 stars if it wasn't for the seams that are not taped or factory sealed. For a tent in this price range I would have expected a tent ready to use out of the box.
I use it mostly in sea kayak trips, along with a Golite Hex 3.

Product Description:
The amazingly versatile Black Diamond Skylight 3-Person 3-Season Tent is equally at home in pouring west coast rain or sweltering desert heat. This tent so impressed the editors at Outside Magazine that they gave it the 2006 Gear of the Year Award. When the weather assures a tent-bound day, the EPIC canopy fabric fights off the water and provides excellent breathability. Stash your packs under the vestibule to keep them dry while you play cards inside. When the weather is so hot that you're afraid of melting, pull back the attached fly to expose the mesh half canopy of the Black Diamond Skylight Tent. This ability to drastically adjust ventilation makes the Skylight and excellent choice for nearly any weather short of winter storms.

Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 3 - Three Person Tent Review

Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 3 - Three Person TentI bought this as my first tent for hiking/BWCAW/car camping tent, and it is pretty nice. If you are looking for a spacious tent for 2 people that weights 4.5 lbs, and you have a little scratch to blow, this is it. Sets up in about 5 minutes, and it tight as a drum. Very tight and very light, well worth the price. Get or make a footprint, I could see the floor getting holes w/o one. I also have the gear loft which works nicely for keeping a few items within reach and off the floor. The only downside, which is not a factor for me, is this would be a tiny 3 man tent, although 3 will fit. I don't ever plan on trying that out. The vestibule is a little small, but I could see a lot of stuff fitting in there if you really crammed it in or stacked it.

Kelty Grand Mesa 6 Footprint Review

Kelty Grand Mesa 6 FootprintSince the price is high, my expectation was that it would be thick and solid fabric. It is extremely thin which you feel all little rocks and cracks in the ground. It does not rip and appears to be strong but it is overpriced. I also have a similar size tarp that I purchased 9 years ago for $35 which offers much better protection and support.

Product Description:
In the early 1950's, Dick Kelty made backpacks for his friends in the Sierra Club. Time and experience proved that hiking was more pleasurable when the hiker could carry heavy loads without shoulder pain. This was accomplished with Kelty's ideas of a hipbelt and light weight aluminum frames. A few of Kelty's popular items are backpacks, adjustable poles, rain covers for backpacks, camp pillows, fanny packs, a carport tent or shelter, Thermolite Quallo sleeping bags, and chuckwagon dog packs.

Sierra Designs Lightning XT 3 Tent 3-Person 3-Season Review

Sierra Designs Lightning XT 3 Tent 3-Person 3-SeasonI have been using a North Face Starfire (tunnel-dome style) tent for 12 years on backpacking and a few car-camping trips with zero complaints - at least until my wife and I got a black lab dog.Quarters were cozy for the two of us, but for the three of us it was downright cramped. So we purchased this Sierra Designs Lightning XT tent for our backpacking outings to have extra room for our dog and gear.We like to hike, camp, and backpack year round in Idaho, so we get everything from 100 degree heat (for a few weeks, anyways) to wet and rainy Spring and Fall seasons, to 10 or 12 feet of snow.It is all usually accompanied by wind of some form or another. We haven't put three people in it, so I can't speak for whether or not it is a roomy 3 person tent, but it sure is a comfy and spacious 2 man tent, even with the dog.

The tent is super light weight; it packs down to the same size and weighs about the same as my North Face 2 man tent.Splitting it between two people makes even better and not at all bulky or heavy in a pack. The tent is almost entirely mesh, which my wife really likes on starry nights, with a bathtub style waterproof bottom. The rainfly is coated nylon and comes down just an inch or two shy of the ground with two vestibules, since there are two doors on the tent.It hooks in to the tent corners where the tent poles hook in, as well clips on to the poles for added stability.Setting the poles up is different than other tents I've used, but seems like it will hold up well in sub-hurricane winds. It is easier to do with two people, but it can be set up by one person if needs be.The tent doesn't have sleeves for the poles, there are just clips every foot or so which seems a little less bomb-proof than my North Face tent, but I haven't had any problems. The poles are hubbed, which also seems a bit less bomb-proof, but the major loads and stresses placed on the poles doesn't go through the hubs so I don't think it will be an issue in the future. The third less bomb-proof item is the fabric - its a little lighter and thinner than my North Face tent to save on weight and bulk. However, the poles, fabric, and clips are all very high quality, so I seriously doubt that I will have any issues with reliability or durability with this tent.

The idea to use Jake's Feet connectors, hubbed poles, and a full mesh top aren't brand new, and most of the big manufacturers buil tents this way.So I figure I won't knock the design unless I really do have a problem.Hence, it still get's 5 stars because it is a high quality, spacious, and VERY light and packable tent. Overall, I'm very pleased with the tent and expect years of service out of it without any issues.

Big Agnes Seedhouse Tent 3 Person Md: TSH3 Review

Big Agnes Seedhouse Tent 3 Person Md: TSH3We love this tent. In fact, after our little family of three grew to a family of 5, we opted just to buy another one just like it rather than buy a 6 man tent. Our little ones are ecstatic about having their own tent. It is easy to set up, and packs very small for backpacking and storage. Can't say enough good things about it.

Kelty Yellowstone 4 Footprint Review

Kelty Yellowstone 4 FootprintI received the footprint today and was disappointed in the material which is the same as the tent.It does have multiple ways to tie down the footprint, but for the price, it does not deliver the value.I found other footprints made of heavier material at 20% of the cost. The light weight might be an advantage for backpackers. Also there are no instructions as to how the mulitple tie-downs could be used with the tent. The one other advantage is that it fits the footprint of the tent unlike other generic footprints. If I had the oportunity for a do-over, I would not make this purchase.

ALPS Mountaineering Lynx AL 4 Tent 4-Person 3-Season Review

ALPS Mountaineering Lynx AL 4 Tent 4-Person 3-SeasonWe got this tent as a rental from an outfitter. We were surprised, we were expecting a Kelty Gundison. We did not despair, figuring the outfitters knew what they were doing. We weren't disappointed either. This tent is light, compact. It weighs the same and is only slightly bigger when compressed than our ten year old three man backpacking tent (Eureka Pinnacle). It is a breeze to put up.My husband managed it the first time in the dark and the rain in just a few minutes. The two-pole clip system that many of these tents have is great for this.Looking at the build quality, it seemed sturdier than a similar REI tent we looked at.(The clips looked thicker and the floor didn't feel as thin). We got a ground cloth which we used and a gear loft which we didn't.I think my favorite feature about this tent is the awesome vents in the fly that pop open and still keep you dry. There are also clear plastic windows in the fly which are kind of cheesy, but it's nice to be able to see out. My only gripe is a small one and that is in the design of the gear vestibules. The zippers pull from the bottom, so if you are in the tent and want to get out you have to lean way out to reach the zipper. The vestibule is somewhat useless, I think since it is wide and low. This is a really common tent design and I can't figure out why these vestibules are so popular. There's not much you can really do with them.If you had four people with four backpacks, there's no way you'd get them all in there.

We just mostly use the vestibules to keep our shoes dry.It does that fine, but our Eureka Pinnacle does as well and has no extra vestibule zipper to cope with, just an overhang that will keep a small amount of stuff dry. When the weather was nice we pinned back the vestibules so that it was easier to get in and out of the tent. There was also the option to just have half the vestibule open, which worked really well.
If the zipper on the vestibule pulled from the top, I'd probably have given it a five star review.

Kelty Villa 4 Four Person Tent Review

Kelty Villa 4 Four Person TentI was interested in the Kelty Villa as it was one of the less costly family-camping tents with a full rain fly that runs to the ground.I discovered the rain fly design is terrible, it fits poorly at the top such that water could pool, and has far too much tension where you access the tent such that it is very difficult to operate the zippers. It is more likely you will break the zipper teeth leaving you soaked in a storm.

The tent does seem to have good ventilation. It's not my favorite tent in terms of quick setup. It takes too long for one (experienced) person.

In total, I would not recommend this product.

Product Description:
Featuring a radical reconfiguration of the traditional dome tent, the Kelty Villa 4 is a great choice for use as a basecamp tent. The three-season, four-person Kelty Villa 4 has a 68 square foot floor area that's complemented by a 14 square foot vestibule area for storing gear and wet, muddy boots and clothing. The tent features extensive mesh at the top as well as four windows and a large D-shaped door for an aerodynamic venting system to regulate temperature and reduce condensation.
Kelty's ArcEdge construction lifts floor seams up off the ground, preventing water seepage around the floor and wall seams. Taped seams on the floor and the rainfly ensure that the tent is protected from moisture and wet weather. Other features include a tall handy organizer wall with a series of bookshelves and pockets keeps everything tidy, internal storage pockets, side-release buckle tent-fly connection, noiseless zipper pulls that resist jingling when it's windy, and color-coded clip construction with DAC DA17 aluminum poles.
The DA17 pre-bent poles are made of proprietary aluminum alloy designed by DAC specifically for tents, which provides a large diameter pole with high stiffness, strength and durability at an affordable price. The clip construction provides great fly separation and increased air movement, and it makes it easier to set-up your tent but offers less strength than full-length sleeves. The clips connecting the poles to the tent are color-coded so set-up is easy and quick in low light conditions.

Kelty Palisade 4-Person Tent Review

Kelty Palisade 4-Person TentThe Kelty Palasaide was the second tent that I received from Kelty.I had purchased the Kelty Villa 4 this year (2010) and when I set it up I came to find out that is was defective.I called the warranty department at Kelty and they were really great. They had me setup the Villa Tent one additional time and then had me send a photo of the 3 inched of space under the floor.Being that the Villa 4 tent was from 2007 and discontinued they offered the Palisade as replacement.I was sold on the vestibule just from the website.

We are planning a trip next week to Sedona and as a test run we set the tent up in our living room. The main part of the tent went up supper easy - the circular pole was an interesting puzzle to figure out and using my 6 year old daughter as a brace we managed to get the tent up. I can honestly say that I could set up the entire tent by myself. As for the circular pole for the roof, I think a tree, car or anything stationary will work just fine if you are setting it up by yourself.

There are a few issues that I have with the tent....

1. Staking the Tent is a Must - The tent definitely needs to be staked to the ground. We go beach camping Palisade offers great ventilation in 80 degree Arizona evenings - finding a way to stake it in the sand will challenging.

2. Lack of Privacy. The Palisade is basically a bug shield without the rain fly.If you like a little privacy in a big campground you will need to attach the fly. Then you give up the awesome open roof and the star gazing that goes along with it.If you tend to do back country camping then the openness will not matter to much.

3. Pets Can Potentially Damage the Tent - We have a puppy we will be taking on our next camping trip and she already has come into the tent and made herself at home. The thing that concerns me is that if she wants out she can tend to scratch at the door.If she does with this tent the mesh will not last.

The Really positive things about the tent....

1. A BIG stuff sack - When we opened the box we found ample room in the duffle bag to account for non-professional packing.

2. A Star Gazing Roof to die for - My daughter and I laid down in the tent and looked up at the ceiling in our living room and the first thing she said was wow we can sure see a lot of shooting stars in this tent!!!!

3. Super Easy to Setup and Take Down - I could do it myself!

4. Large with Vertical Walls - We like to sleep with big comfy cots and both fit in just nicely. If you wanted a third cot it could get a little tight.Four cots would definably not fit.

5. Vestibule and Rainfly is really cool! - Makes an extra room for you!(For it to work it needs to be staked to the ground!)

6. Great Customer Service - Kelty provides awesome customer support directly out of their Colorado office...

We will report back once we have a chance to test it in the field.

Kelty Teton 4 Tent 4-Person 3-Season Review

Kelty Teton 4 Tent 4-Person 3-Season... with two kids, in a jungle in southern Madagascar.

We stayed dry. It rained torrentially for 11 days straight- and not a drop of water got inside the tent. Amazing! On dewy mornings, there was quite a bit of condensation on the bottom walls, but the air circulation through the mesh roof is excellent and the condensation lasts only an hour or so once the sun's up. We left our boots in the vestibule every night, and they were always dry in the morning, even after a gale.

The tent holds up well in strong winds. It was difficult to sleep through gales, though, because the vestibule does flap in very strong winds.

Malaria is a problem in the area we camped in, so I was concerned about the netting and whether mosquitoes could bite through the light fabric. I need not have worried. We used the vestibule as an `air lock'. Not one creepy crawly or mosquito got inside the tent over the course of a month.

I wouldn't call this a four-person tent. It's perfect for an adult and two small kids- I could fit my backpacker's cot, two air mattresses for the kids, and a month's worth of gear inside. You could fit four sleeping bags inside, head to tail like sardines, with no gear, but that's no way to live.

The tent's very easy to set up and take down; it takes 5-10 minutes for an adult, or 10-15 minutes with a ten year old helping you. I like the fly buckles on each corner of the tent, but wish Kelty had included an extra plastic buckle. We lost one the first time we set up the tent, and now have to knot the strap to hold the fly down.

The tent's very light, too- great for backpacking.

It's the best 3-season tent I've ever owned.

While riding out storms won't be this tent's forte, muggy nights can be spent peacefully thanks to generous airflow. Side wall vents also promote air movement. The Teton has one D-shaped door and taped floor seams. The rainfly has taped seams and side-release tent/fly connection buckles. This is an awesome lightweight tent for an incredible price!

MSR Mutha Hubba HP 3-Person Tent Review

MSR Mutha Hubba HP 3-Person TentIf you're willing to sit (or are tall enough you can't ever stand, even in the tallest dome tents, like me) this tent gives as much effective space as almost any 4-person tent out there.Plus, it's very well made, has a good profile for resisting wind and storms, comes from a quality manufacturer you can trust, and is easy to set up and take down.It is light enough to backpack with -- just barely, and if you are a bit of a "pack horse".

My wife and I use this with our 2-year-old daughter primarily for car camping. We have a *ton* of space. The footprint of this tent is larger than a queen size bed.If you're considering using this mostly for car camping, I recommend the LL Bean semi-rectangular synthetic bags (all semi-rectangular bags zip together since they have a symmetrical shape) and a cheap high density foam or memory-foam mattress topper instead of a traditional Therm-A-Rest style mattress. You will then effectively have a queen size bed *and* tent that you can fit in the trunk of your car with ease.

This tent at Amazon's current pricing beats even the sale prices you'll see around on the old Mutha Hubba (non-HP) model. If Amazon ends the big sale, that won't be so.The older model might actually be nicer if you don't anticipate severe conditions -- it relies more on the rainfly for weatherproofness and so it's a lot airier inside since it has a lot of mosquito mesh where this model has canvas.Still, even on a summer car camping trip there have been days when I was very glad to have the extra rain protection this 'HP' version offered.

Buy the optional footprint but don't try to stretch it tight -- it is slightly undersized and *will* tear if you do so.This tent floor is quite waterproof and does not need edge-to-edge protection from the footprint, which is mostly to keep it from grinding on the dirt and becoming no longer watertight. The footprint is cheap, already cut to the right size and shape, and *much* lighter than one homemade from a tarp.

Product Description:
MSR's lightest, freestanding 3-person tent weighs less than the Mutha Hubba, yet offers greater coverage in the tent canopy for added protection and warmth during unexpected, early-season snowfalls or persistent coastal winds. We've achieved this increased protection with lighter weight by utilizing the latest fabrics and technology to bring the Mutha Hubba HP down to an impressive 6 pounds, 4 ounces. Along with the fast and easy pitching hub and swivel pole design, the Mutha Hubba HP is light enough for two, big enough for three and strong for almost anything you'll find this side of winter.

Ultralight: Technical fabric shaves ounces and provides more protection from snow, sand, and wind.
Livable: Unique pole configuration provides maximum interior space, two doors, and two large vestibules for storing gear.
Quick and Easy Setup: All-in-one hub-and-swivel pole design is strong and simple to use.
Versatile: Can be used as a double-wall tent for full protection or in two freestanding tarp-shelter modes: with optional footprint (sold separately), or just the fly and poles only for the ultimate in weight savings.

MSR Footprints
MSR recommends using a water-resistant polyester-taffeta footprint that's designed specifically for this tent to protect its floor from sharp objects, such as rocks and pine needles, as well as from mud and ground water. MSR footprints also increase the versatility of most tents by acting as a ground cloth in lightweight tarp-style setups.

Mutha Hubba 3 Person Tent Review

Mutha Hubba 3 Person TentI bought this tent a few years ago and have nothing but kind things to say about it.

1.)It's sorta light.Considering its size, it's sorta light, probably around 7 pounds when you include the footprint (not included.)Considering how voluminous this thing is, I really don't mind the extra ounces.

2.)It's freakin' huge.Seriously, this thing is the airplane hanger of small tents. The way the poles pull this thing apart, there is just tons of headroom in this then.Maybe it's a character defect of mine, but I get a little uneasy being in confined areas, like when you're trying to get a pair of pants on in a tent and you're banging your head against a wall/ceiling.I've never had a problem like that in this tent.Seriously, it's gigantic.I'll bet if you took a ratio of square footage to cubic footage, this one would win by a mile.

3.)It's mostly screen. No more riding out humid, still nights. With all-around screen, whatever little wind is around -will- pass through your tent.My last tent had a clever wind-flow system so that you had to position the tent just right with respect to the wind to catch any breeze.Never again!

4.)It's easy to use. It's a snap to put up and the rain fly is very easy to deal with. The doors are very intuitive and easy to get in and out of.It's really a no brainer. The only challenge is reading the directions the first few times to figure out when, where and how the poles go in.After that, it's smooth sailing.

5.)It's lasting quite well.I've had this for three years now and we camp regularly in it, even in the snow.So far, no stitches have popped, all the zippers are cherry and as far as I can tell, there isn't even any abrasion on it.My guess is that the rain fly has faded a bit, but I would have to compare it to a fresh one.Other than that, I'm quite surprised at how well this is holding up.

This is a really great tent.My -only- complaint is that the vestibules really cannot hold that much stuff. When this is billed as a "three person tent" I'd say there is no theoretical way to fit three campers and all of their stuff into this tent. For the two of us, however, this tent is just perfect.

Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent (Spring 2010) Review

Kelty Gunnison 4.1 TentThis is a great 3 season tent with 2 large vestibles and plenty of ventilation. It is of course over rated for capacity as all tents are but it will comfortably house my wife, my dog and me with some gear. Easy to set up, re-pack and very durable so far, just remember to always use a tent footprint. You can buy better tents but for the money this one ranks high in value.

ALPS Mountaineering Osage 4 Person Tent (7-Feet 6 x 8-Feet 6-Inch) Review

ALPS Mountaineering Osage 4 Person TentWe bouth this tent for cub scout camp for two persons. And yes, after beautiful day one the rain came and we got that as well. So...

The tent is light, you can package it easily to the bag and has everything you need.

We assembled it once before the camp. I strongly recommend you to do it since if you try to read the manual and learn it in the woods when it's dark it may be frustrating. For us it was reasonable easy after practising at home.

Tent has good fly and that seems to keep rain away very well (it rained the whole night and following morning). And tent is for three season and you can see it from the quality.

I recommend tarp / tent floor cover. We got a little water in from one corner where the water was gathered on the tarp (yeah - our mistake of not placing tarp in right position). But it is good to know that floor is not 100% water proof.

All structures work well and the color is nice.

Overall very good tent for camping type of usage.

All shipping etc worked well and as promised!

Selecting a Tent
Fortunately, there are all kinds of tents for weekend car campers, Everest expeditions, and everything in-between. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
Expect the Worst
In general, it's wise to choose a tent that's designed to withstand the worst possible conditions you think you'll face. For instance, if you're a summer car camper in a region where weather is predictable, an inexpensive family or all purpose tent will likely do the trick--especially if a vehicle is nearby and you can make a mad dash for safety when bad weather swoops in! If you're a backpacker, alpine climber or bike explorer, or if you like to car camp in all seasons, you'll want to take something designed to handle more adversity.
Three- and Four-Season Tents
For summer, early fall and late spring outings, choose a three-season tent. At minimum, a quality three season tent will have lightweight aluminum poles, a reinforced floor, durable stitching, and a quality rain-fly. Some three-season tents offer more open-air netting and are more specifically designed for summer backpacking and other activities. Many premium tents will feature pre-sealed, taped seams and a silicone-impregnated rain-fly for enhanced waterproofness.
For winter camping or alpine travel, go with a four season model. Because they typically feature more durable fabric coatings, as well as more poles, four-season tents are designed to handle heavy snowfall and high winds without collapsing. Of course, four-season tents exact a weight penalty of about 10 to 20 percent in trade for their strength and durability. They also tend to be more expensive.
Domes and Tunnels
Tents are broadly categorized into two types, freestanding, which can stand up on their own, and those that must be staked down in order to stand upright. Freestanding tents often incorporate a dome-shaped design, and most four-season tents are constructed this way because a dome leaves no flat spots on the outer surface where snow can collect. Domes are also inherently stronger than any other design. Meanwhile, many three-season models employ a modified dome configuration called a tunnel. These are still freestanding, but they require fewer poles than a dome, use less fabric, and typically have a rectangular floor-plan that offers less storage space than a dome configuration. Many one and two-person tents are not freestanding, but they make up for it by being more lightweight. Because they use fewer poles, they can also be quicker to set up than a dome.
Size Matters
Ask yourself how many people you'd like to fit in your fabric hotel now and in the future. For soloists and minimalists, check out one-person tents. If you're a mega-minimalist, or if you have your eye on doing some big wall climbs, a waterproof-breathable bivy sack is the ticket. Some bivy sacks feature poles and stake points to give you a little more breathing room. Also, if you don't need bug protection and you want to save weight, check out open-air shelters.
Families who plan on car camping in good weather can choose from a wide range of jumbo-sized tents that will accommodate all your little ones with room to spare. A wide range of capacities is also available for three- and four-season backpacking and expedition tents. Remember, though, the bigger the tent you buy, the heavier it will be, although it's easy to break up the tent components among several people in your group. It's also helpful to compare the volume and floor-space measurements of models you're considering.

Kelty Grand Mesa 4-Person Tent (Ruby/Tan) Review

Kelty Grand Mesa 4-Person TentI have been extremely pleased with this tent. It is spacious enough for my family of four and is very easy to set up.My ten and seven-year olds can pitch this tent almost completely by themselves.Hooks for the poles is a vast improvement over running poles through slits. The connections for the rainflap are very easy to use. The inside is pretty spacious. The one loop for a lantern is good, but would have liked one or two more. The storage compartments inside are sufficient, and between them and the space created when you close the rain flap we had all our gear out of the elements.Given the size of the tent it is not overly heavy, although I could not fit this in my pack using the bag is comes in. Instead I connected it via some extra straps on my pack and it worked just fine.We have had no issues with any component of this tent and would recommend it to other campers.

Product Description:
Blending affordability with versatility, the Kelty Grand Mesa is a great choice for packing on your trail excursions. This freestanding tent sleeps up to four campers, offers three-season usage, and includes a single vestibule for storage. It also includes large mesh windows for optimal ventilation, full coverage, UV resistant polyester rain fly, and color-coded poles for quick-and-easy setup. Weighing 7 pounds, 4 ounces, the four-person Grand Mesa has a 53.3 square foot floor area and a 18.8 square foot vestibule.
The aluminum DAC Press Fit poles offer more strength for improved durability and a more wind-resistant pitch. They use a color-coded clip construction that eliminates the hassle of feeding poles through cumbersome tent sleeves--just slide the shock-corded pole sections together and attach the clips. The tent also offers post and grommet type assembly with locking pole tips for convenience and security. The bathtub floor offers wrap-up sides for extreme weather protection, and the main fly and floor seams are factory taped for extreme weather protection. Other features include a single flashlight loop, mesh interior pockets for gear storage, external guy points for added stability in windy conditions, and noiseless zipper pulls.

Kelty Yellowstone 6-Person Tent (Navy/Grey) Review

Kelty Yellowstone 6-Person TentThis is a really nice tent.Easy to set up, spacious, good for car camping. The tent that we received has a zipper (on the door) that is quirky... it has trouble rounding the corners and doesn't always work right, so that sometimes the teeth pull apart and you have to "unzip" it and then slowly zip it again to make sure it works right ... and it zips better from the inside than the outside, so we've found that it is sometimes better when closing the door from the outside to put your hand on the inside of the tent and pull on that part of the zipper until you get it all the way around the corners. This is a minor frustration that might just be a small defect of our particular tent, and perhaps we could exchange it or have it fixed, but it didn't seem worth the trouble to me.Another frustration we had was when our toddler got ahold of the tent pole and snapped the cord.Totally our fault... we broke it, there was no default with that. But Kelty had great customer service and even though we explained exactly what happened, they replaced the pole.We just had to pay shipping one-way to send the broken pole to them.
